As a quick addendum to last Sunday’s post… Just hours after the blog went live (and hours before I submitted my DICAS application), I received my admissions email for my first choice program. I am excited to announce that I will be attending The Ohio State University Master of Dietetics and Nutrition program! I look forward to continuing my career as a Buckeye! Yet another reminder to not count all your eggs before they hatch, or count your chickens before they lay eggs, or whatever the expression is.

It’s DI Application season. I’ve submitted one application, but I don’t want to put all my eggs in one basket, so I’m preparing for the DICAS match as well. What is DICAS? Other than the bane of every dietetics student’s existence, DICAS is the “Dietetic Internship Centralized Application Service.” Applicants send all of their application material to DICAS and list the programs they want to apply to in order of first to their last choice. DICAS then submits their material accordingly. The selected programs then rank all of the applications they receive, and admissions are made according to the applicant’s highest rank program that ranks them the highest. Confusing, right? |
